Addison's Room (Part 1)

We recently started the transition of our 'other room' into Addison's nursery. During the 2 1/2 years we have lived here, the room has gone from our junk room, to a Tommy Bahama inspired sitting room, and now to our baby's room!

It all started when we got the crib at Christmas. I'm always amazed when Clay is able to assemble furniture without the use of instructions.

The crib made the room start to look like the baby’s room but it still needed a face lift!
Although Clay suggested we use the deer horns as a bow holder, we decided to take them down!
I knew that a little paint would make a huge difference. We wanted a soft color and narrowed it down to yellow or pink. 3 shades of pink, 7 shades of yellow, and a committee meeting with Ashley later, we decided on a Buttered Yellow (which I describe as the perfect shade of cute)!

This weekend we painted the room. We were so grateful to have Ashley who holds a black belt in painting help with the project.

The room looks great and now is starting to look like our baby’s room. Melody surprised us with her bedding and little by little the room is coming together!

Stay tuned for more…we have lots planned for Addison’s room!

Amen and pass the butter,
Marcy

Auld Lang Syne and Old Gruene Hall

Lubbock to Granbury to Gruene and home to Lubbock.  3 days of travel for a total of 975 miles...what a way to ring in the New Year!

Friday we started our trip to join Zack, Jen, Doug, and friends to ring in the new year under the big tent at the Waltz Across the Pasture, a "Texas Style New Year's Party".  The night started with a show by Walt Wilkins and The Mystiqueros and we rang in the new year with Brandon Rhyder.  We think Addison may come out dancing to the tune of "Rock Angel"!

Clay has said that The Mystiqueros at Gruene Hall on New Year's Day is one of his favorite shows so Saturday morning we all woke up and headed to Gruene.  I spent most of the day listening from the front room of Gruene Hall with Jen and Ethan.  We had a great day visiting, people watching, and enjoying the atmosphere.  We joined Clay, Doug, and Zack for several of our farvorite songs and to take some pictures.

On Sunday we started our long drive home.  We enjoyed our trip through the Texas Hill Country and are happy to be home after our long 3 days.

We are looking forward to 2011 and all of the exciting new changes it will bring.  What a wonderful time we had ringing in the new year...it's going to be a great one!

Amen and Pass the Butter,
